Lucca is famous for its intact Renaissance-era city walls, a pedestrian promenade which encircled the old town in the natural amphitheatre of the hills beyond.
The medieval city has maintained the characteristics of the small capital: the streets and piazzas of the historical center, “the Oval Square”, the churches, the towers and buildings, provide an ideal setting for a campus within which experiences can be shared.
In spite of being a small city (85.000 inhabitants), Lucca hosts international festivals and cultural events, for example, the Lucca Summer Music Festival and the annual Lucca Comics and Games, Italy’s largest festival for comics.
